Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is no earlier than 3pm. Check-out is no later than 10am.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Mayo’s Cape Codder requires cancellation notification at least 21 days prior to your check-in date. There is a $50 cancellation fee. If you need to cancel within three weeks of the check-in date, we will retain half of the reservation total cost, unless we can re-rent the room to another guest.

  • Can I purchase a gift certificate for the Cape Codder?

Yes! Gift certificates can be purchased HERE.

  • Can we book fewer than three nights?

If you would like to book less than our minimum, please give us a call. Depending on the occupancy and open rooms, we may be able to accommodate you.

  • Do you allow children?

Yes, we welcome all children over the age of 2 years at Mayo’s Cape Codder Guest House. We ask that families are considerate of other guests when it comes to excessive noise in the house, making special effort to use inside voices and walking quietly when in the house. We love kids and hope this consideration is not a hardship.

  • Where can we park?

We provide one parking space per reservation on our (273) Bradford St and 570 Commercial St. lots. If guests would like to bring more than one car, additional space will be subject to availability.

  • Do you allow pets?

No. In an effort to make all our guests comfortable during their stay, we have changed our pet policy and no longer can accommodate guests with pets. Thank you for your understanding.

  • What are your COVID-19 policies?

As we welcome you back to our guest house, we are committed to providing you with a safe environment that aligns with expert protocols working to defeat and prevent COVID-19. Both in-house and out-of-doors, we have raised our cleaning and safety standards. We will actively monitor and evolve our solutions to ensure a continued focus on the health and safety of our guests and associates.

  • How do we get to the guest house?

Although our mailing and street address is 570 Commercial Street, we ask our guests to come to the Bradford Street parking lot to check in. Look for our sign, and use 273 Bradford Street in your navigation device.

  • Are you open year round?

Mayo’s Cape Codder opens for Memorial Day weekend and closes for the season on October 15th. But check back with us… we are toying with opening parts of the house year-round!

  • Are there any additional fees?

We charge a $50 cancellation fee.

Each suite has the option to add additional rooms for $150/night to accommodate friends and family.

See our “Policies” page for information about damage, smoking and other fees.

  • How do we get to the guest house from the airport?

You can take one of Provincetown’s many taxi cabs from the airport. Just tell them, Mayo’s Cape Codder at 570 Commercial Street or have them drop you to our back parking lot at 273 Bradford Street.

  • Do you recommend renting a car?

We are a very walkable and bike-friendly town. There are options to rent bikes, e-bikes and golf carts in town. It is not necessary to have a car with you unless you’d like to explore other parts of the Cape during your stay. The center of town is a 20-minute walk from your guest house room.

  • Do you provide toiletries?

The Mayo Family has been deeply committed to protecting the marine environment on this fragile spit of land where they have lived and worked for generations. In an effort to reduce plastic waste on the Outer Cape, we respectfully ask that guests bring their own shampoo, conditioner, etc. However, if you find yourself in need, we will be able to accommodate you. Thank you for helping us keep the ocean and its beaches safe and clean for all to enjoy. If you’d like to learn more about Marine Debris on the Outer Cape, check out our very own Laura Ludwig (Stormy’s wife), head of Marine Debris & Plastics at the Center for Coastal Studies in this video.

  • Do you have housekeeping/maid service?

Unfortunately, we do not have a daily maid service available for the rooms. Like much of Provincetown, we too are suffering a worker shortage and ask for your patience. Although we encourage you to reuse towels from an environmental standpoint, we understand you may be in need of a refresher during your stay. If so, feel free to use the on-site laundry room, or call the main number and we will provide you with new items as soon as possible.
